Let's look at the three key players on my outfit shown above: 1. a Mumu 2. a Canadian Tuxedo 3. Plastic Disco Sandals. (Sub factors include: gaudy jewelry, a Peta not-so-friendly horsehair clutch, and baggy jeans.) If I told you about any one these items without looking at them you'd probably say, "Michaela, you must be describing a Glamour Shot c.a. 1994." WRONG
It's 2013 people, the age of the hipster, where breaking boundaries and wearing what you thought was uncool actually is. Take my Mumu for example; the ladies of Show Me Your Mumu have transformed what was once your grandma's go-to, into a variety of beautiful tops, dresses, skirts and more! I mean just look at these, everyone looks good in a Mumu!
On the subject of physical flattery, baggy boyfriend jeans happen to be slimming, and plastic disco heels elongate your legs... who'da thunk it? My argument here is such: the Mumu, baggy jeans, plastic platforms etc. were never actually "uncool" or "unattractive." It is and always has been a matter of trend vs. style. We all know trends die, and style is timeless. My post just goes to show style is what great designers create constantly, I am just the messenger ;).
