As our loyal followers may have noticed, things look a bit different on the blog....OK, entirely different. It is no secret that H&H has been barren compared to our early days. A lot has happened over the past 2 years. Between graduating college, moving to 3 different cities (each), entering the work force, switching careers -then finding the right ones, oh and that thing called marriage, our lives have been WILD! Unfortunately, our little blog has suffered in return.
In the absence of blogging I began to question blogging at all, maybe it was more of a hassle than a hobby. So I asked myself, “self, why did you blog in the first place?” Well for one it was a great excuse for my best friend and I to talk everyday (which we still do), but more importantly it was my creative outlet when I was too tired to bust-out the oil paints. Now that Monica has found her dream job in politics and is kicking ass over in D.C., H&H will no longer consist of “best friends and recent grads trying to make it the real world, preferably the fashion world.” In fact, H&H will be no more. Sad I know, but not as sad as you may think. Monica could not be happier, we are still the BESTEST of friends, I mean the girl was my Maid of Honor, and me well I am not ready to close the door on the blogosphere. No it does not end here, au contraire this is a new beginning! The ultimate cliché.
With that said, welcome everyone to my new beginning, creatively dubbed Michaela Jean. I hope to use this virtual space to document my life, not so much in a narcissistic way but in a way that my future nostalgic self will appreciate. I also plan to finally put my art online (something I've dreamed about for years), and of course, continue to post clothing and fashion inspiration I can't help but share. So here's to the wonderful 2 years of H&H, and the endless possibilities that are MJ. (Whoa, I suppose first letter abbreviations don't quite work anymore.)
A final <3,
