Tour Through Blogland

posted on: 10.20.2014

Happy Monday all, only four more days until the weekend! Ha, gotta stay positive right? Anyway, the lovely and talented Chelsea of Holland's Reverie asked if I would be interested in participating in the current web trend "Tour Through Blogland", where bloggers talk about their process and introduce their readers to some other awesome blogs, so obviously I was down. See my responses and selection of bloggers "to know" below!

1. What am I working on? Oh you know this and that, honestly this blog is more or less a day by day process for me. Although I have a few collabs in the invisible queue, my procrastination is unavoidable and I wouldn't say I am truly working on them until an hour before I post. So currently, I am working on this entry right here :).

2. How does my work differ from others in it's genre? Can it be different in that I am unable to nail down a genre? My blog is ever evolving, and so I would say it's unique in that you never know what might end up on this site, nor do I! Also, veracity. I am working hard on being true to you, to not edit out who I am out of fear of rejection. You can be sure that what you read on my blog is very much my real voice.

3. Why do I write/create what I do? Because I LOVE it, duh! But really, I love blogging I do. This blog is incredibly fulfilling and it feels so right to have a space that literally anyone can read. I suppose I write to document, to push my literary abilities, and to in a way give my experiences purpose.

4. How does my writing/creating process work? Hmm, this varies. I am constantly writing down creative ideas in my journal, sometimes I turn these into posts. Other times I just wing it and then narrate my experiences after the fact. I will say that I am constantly thinking out how to improve my blog and my art, it's an obsession that cannot be silenced.

Now onto the blogs I highly suggest you check out!

First, Malia of Little Lady Chang. Each post she creates is like a beautiful poem. When I visit her blog I yearn for a rainy day so that I can curl up under a knitted blanket, sip on a cup of tea, and better enjoy her lyrical words. Also, I love her instagram account.
My name is Malia Dhawn. The h is silent. So yes, like the morning time, as I was born at 7:10am with the sun. And yes, how appropriate because it's my most favorite time of day. Everything is so bright and fresh -- alive.

I am a twenty-four year old sensitive, thinking, creating soul determined to make life as lovely as possible. Because I have faith in seeing the small and making it important. Twirling in the little nows and soaking them in to my bones. Slowing down and being right here, right this very instant. My favorite things are breakfast, writing in thought streams, lavender, books, a very special man who is my soon to be husband, wedding planning, significance, and my very small, always cold hands.

Next, sweet sweet Maggie. She may not realize this, but in my mind we're totally friends, like super tight. She is such a friendly and welcoming blogger and this just shines through in her words. Also, this girl has her sh*t together, just check out her credentials. Her posts are always flawless and I would happily invite the creative genius behind Polished Closets to jazz up my life!
I am a personal stylist, closet organization specialist, and a fashion blogger, living in Charlotte, NC with my husband and our two cats. After earning my MS and MBA, working in the "real world" just didn't satisfy my need for fashion, so I started Polished Closets as a creative outlet. While I still work full time in finance, Polished Closets has become a special place for me to share my personal style, organization tips, and lifestyle. It is my hope that Polished Closets inspires women to dress confidently, to express their inner style, and to feel their best.

Last but not least Kylie of Dress in Sparkles! This girl is probably the only fashion blogger out there to give you a full teeth smile each and every post. Kylie- I thank you for that. She is such a bright and cheery spirit that her superb style is only a fraction of what her blog has to offer.
Hi there, Kylie here! I’m an accelerated second degree nursing student, who plans to go into pediatrics. My blog, Dress in Sparkles, is my outlet for all the other loves in my life, such as fashion, baking and just all around pretty things.

And there you have it, a tour through blogland.

  2. I tend to write posts right as I'm planning to publish too! But my goal is to post at least twice a week now, on Mondays and Thursdays, so hopefully having a schedule will keep me on track and to help me plan ahead of time!

  5. As always, I love your post. Your honestly is always refreshing, and I think you portray that so well here on the blog. I like seeing how it's evolved, I think Ive been reading for about four months and at first it seemed to be all style. I love the new ever changing tone, you never know what it's going to be about, but know it will be witty, clever and fun. I've not read any of these so that it's great, I love being introduced to new blogs!

I'm always SO impressed by the people that have blogging schedules and plan out their posts weeks before hand. Give me that kind of ability to organize! It doesn't exist. And thanks for sharing those other bloggers- I'm off to check them out right now!
