Documenting

posted on: 2.11.2015

Am I the only blogger that constantly forgets she owns a nice camera then goes out in the world and thinks, "bummer, I should have photographed that.." and then weeks later looks through her phone and finds that she actually did photograph "that", but with her inferior portable camera? (I feel out of breath after writing that run-on.) I kick myself every Monday for not documenting my weekend, but the truth is I always do...  For some reason I have it in my mind that iPhone photos are a blog no-no, unless I am writing one of these posts. Yet in looking at these images I realize they aren't horrible. At the very least they speak the truth. That is my current life consists of my pug, my guy, my art and my beach. Which if you ask me, is definitely blog worthy.

  1. I can totally relate, I am always wishing for more photos on "the big camera," but you have to remember that any photos are better than none. :)

  5. I never break out the camera anymore. It is very sad. My kids lives are documented with iphone photos :(. That being said, these are great photos.

  9. Yes- I am worlds worst about bringing my camera, and completely forgetting to capture any moment- thus why all my photos are portraits. Anyway, these are great photos- I really want to come to California someday- got room room for six more!

  10. Ok, we totally do this to ourselves ALL THE TIME, and then realize our phone photos are actually so much better than we thought. We all need to use them more often.

  11. that last photo is really pretty. I think you did a kick ass job with your phone. I always forget my camera and too shy to pull out my phone. It's absurd, but I'm working through it. Where are the pictures of your swimming pug? That was a resolution or something right? You mentioned it as some point.

  14. I didn't used to forget my camera, but always thought it was too cumbersome to lug around and then would take photos with my phone. Now I try to force myself to take my camera around 50% of the time :) Lovely photos thanks for sharing!

  15. Did you take those beach pictures on your phone? They are amazing! I'm also always really hesitant to post phone photos on the blog - but from the looks of it, my phone camera is a lot lower quality than yours! I enjoyed this little glimpse into your weekend and would also enjoy seeing more of these little snapshot posts!

  17. I hear you, girl- it's just so hard to lug a DSLR around everywhere, or at least that's what I tell myself. :)

Great snaps- you're SO CUTE in the first shot!

  18. Totally relate. Carrying a large DSLR camera around though is just too much. These pictures are gorgeous and I just want to go to the beach now :)

  20. There is nothing wrong with sharing iPhone pics on the blog. What matters is the message that you want to convey and as long as the photos are nice to look at, who cares?

  21. iPhone camera can tale some decent shots. I lost my SLR years ago and still haven't replaced it. I'm also pretty forgetful most days so like you I'd probably find I'd leave it at home anyway. Thankfully I can't seem to part with my phone so the majority of snaps are captured with it. And those snaps I most certainly publish on my blog too. Though I've never announced it, I guess it has been a bit of a secret... LOL

  23. Same feels here. I don't tend to bring my camera with me always because it's quite big. I end up using my phone in taking pictures that's why it looks pixelated at times. Anyway, these pictures are perfect! What did you use in taking these? Love the beach!!! <3

    Happy Valentines, Michaela! :)
