Friday Art Feature

posted on: 2.06.2015

Friday Art Feature is here! One of the best parts about drawing skies is doing so from photographs taken by others. When drawing from a still image I am forced to fully investigate the scene: to notice the subtle purple of distant clouds and imagine the rain that fills them, to feel the spray from a crashing wave upon the rocks, or to stare at the still sun as it rests just above the sea line. When I began this project I had planned on only drawing skies from ones that I witnessed or photographed. But with any art project, directions change and now this new approach may be what I love most about IDRAWSKIES. Drawing or painting a landscape is as close as one can get to actually experiencing a location, that's the magic of art. So thanks to social media I can travel the world with you and for that I am ever grateful! Keep tagging me (@idrawskies) in pictures you take or stumble upon, and if you like the drawing #repost and share the love! Bon weekend mes amis!
